SOLID SENDERS is one of a series of musical shorts produced by Will Cowan for Universal. It is a series of unrelated musical vignettes tied together
with music performed by Jan Garber and his orchestra. Vignettes include a tap dancer, singing triplets, and xylophone players. JULIE portrays a girl seeking her missing boy friend. She hesitates, but ultimately goes into the Bureau of Missing Boy Friends where, as she sings The Boy With The Wistful Eyes, Jimmie Dodd shows her photographs that might be of the boy she is seeking. At each, she shakes her head, "No" until he shows her his own
photograph and she recognizes him as the boy with the wistful eyes.
